And the day came when the risk
to remain tight in a bud
was more painful
than the risk it took to blossom.
As a Polk County Native, the daughter of a Vietnam Combat Veteran, and the wife of an Army Veteran, it has been my honor to serve local Veterans for more than a decade. Helping Veterans and others with duty-related trauma is how I am able to give back for the sacrifices that have been made in the name of Honor, Duty, Country, and Freedom. So, it is my distinct pleasure to offer Polk County's first private mental health practice focusing on the unique therapeutic needs of Military Veterans, Active Duty Troops, Law Enforcement, First Responders, and Individuals working in other High-Risk Environments.
I have 10 years of experience working for the Department of Veterans Affairs and served several years as Program Leader of a local VA Mental Health Clinic. I also have over 8 years of experience working in correctional and other law enforcement environments.
I received a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of South Florida in 2001 and I am licensed by the State of Florida (SW8070). I have been working in the field of mental health since 1993.
